Turkish opposition party wins Ankara, possibly Istanbul

My favorite shot from celebrations at the Republican People’s Party (CHP) headquarters in Ankara, Turkey, published in Italy’s la Repubblica.

The country’s main opposition party, the CHP, took most of Turkey’s largest cities in municipal elections that saw a backlash against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) following an economic downturn that led to a spike in consumer prices.

Above, a crowd celebrated the victory of CHP Ankara Mayoral Candidate Mansur Yavas.
