Diego Cupolo is a freelance reporter, photojournalist and author of "Seven Syrians: War Accounts From Syrian Refugees" (2013 - 8th House Publishing).
His articles and photography have appeared in The Atlantic, The Financial Times, Foreign Policy, National Geographic, The New Statesman, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and other publications. He has reported from the Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
Diego is a Mexican-born Italian-American that was partially raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He began his journalism career in New York City and is currently based in Ankara, Turkey. He is a member of the International Federation of Journalists, the US National Writers Union and has Hostile Environments & Emergency First Aid certification.
