Diego Cupolo is a reporter, photojournalist and author of "Seven Syrians: War Accounts From Syrian Refugees" (2013 - 8th House Publishing).
His articles and photography have appeared in Atlantic Magazine, Deutsche Welle, The Guardian, The Financial Times, Foreign Policy, The Independent, IRIN News, Monocle Magazine, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Quartz, The Washington Post and other publications. He has reported from more than 20 countries in the Middle East, Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and the Balkans.
Diego is a Mexican-born Italian-American that was partially raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He began his journalism career in New York City and is currently based in Ankara, Turkey. He is a member of the International Federation of Journalists, the US National Writers Union and has Hostile Environments & Emergency First Aid certification.
